Royal Regents 1934 - 1941 Exhibition Opened
The National Assembly House is hosting an exhibition titled Royal Regents 1934 – 1941.
The guests were also addressed by the Mayor of Novi Sad, Milos Vucevic, who said that the Novi Sad City Museum prepared the exhibition in order to justly portray a specific time of Serbian history, adding that the exhibition is a way to show respect not only to a historic period, but also to the individuals who left a deep impact on Serbian history. Vucevic said that the exhibition helps us better understand the Serbian history between the two world wars, stressing the role of the individual in the times before the outbreak of conflict.
Princess Jelisaveta Karadjordjevic, daughter of Prince Pavle Karadjordjevic, stressed that the exhibition is proof that Serbia is seeking the truth about itself. Natalija Stankovic, daughter-in-law of royal regent Dr Radenko Stankovic, reminded the guests about his life. The author of the exhibition MA Gordana Petkovic thanked the patrons of the exhibition which she spent more than two years preparing. The choir of Jovan Jovanovic Zmaj Grammar School form Novi Sad performed at the opening of the exhibition which was also attended by numerous cultural and political VIPs.
The exhibition will be open to the public at the last two weekends of September as part of European Heritage Days, as well as during the working week, with a mandatory day’s notice.
