Prof. Dr Zarko Obradovic Receives Representatives of University of Denver

The Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Prof. Dr Zarko Obradovic received a delegation of students and professors of the University of Denver at the National Assembly House. He briefed them on the history and current state of Serbia, saying that the country has a tumultuous past and interesting future.


Serbia’s four foreign policy goals her said are EU accession, good relations with the US, Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China, improving regional cooperation and maintaining good relations with the members of the former Non-Aligned Movement. Obradovic also spoke about the open issues Serbia has to contend with, the biggest being the status of Kosovo-Metohija, stressing that the country is trying to find an acceptable solution through dialogue.

Obradovic also spoke about the significant moves made in the course of the reform process resulting in the stabilization of the economic situation in the country. He stressed that regional cooperation and keeping the peace is one of Serbia’s priorities, as evidenced by the so-called “mini-Schengen” between Serbia, Albania and North Macedonia, construction of the highway through Sarajevo which will contribute to the connectivity with Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the efforts to advance the relations and resolve the outstanding issues with Croatia.

The students wanted to know more about the direction of Serbia’s diplomatic activity, situation in Kosovo-Metohija and Serbia’s European path.
