The Head of the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians Parliamentary Group Prof. Dr Balint Pasztor met today with the newly-appointed Ambassador of Serbia to Hungary, H.E. Aleksandra Djurovic.

Pasztor said that Hungary is a true and sincere friend to the Republic of Serbia and that the two countries have no open issues, as evidenced by the frequent visits of MPs where ideas and experiences are exchanged, especially when it comes to European integration. He also mentioned Hungary's open support against the Resolution on Srebrenica at the UN General Assembly, and the officials agreed that this move showed the sincere and unbreakable friendship between the two nations.
The topics of discussion concerned political parties in Hungary, cooperation of mutual interest in the field of infrastructure, especially the reconstruction of the Belgrade-Budapest railway, the expansion of the Kelebia border crossing and the strengthening of capacities in this field, which would be of great importance for the citizens of both countries, who cross from one country to the other at a daily basis.
The officials also exchanged opinions on Hungary's strong support for Serbia's aspirations for EU membership, bearing in mind Hungary's upcoming presidency of the EU Council.
