Parliamentary visit to Canada
On the third day of their visit to Canada, the multi-party delegation of the Serbian Assembly held talks with Peter Milliken, Speaker of the House of Commons of the Canadian Parliament, as well as with Gar Knutson, Secretary of State for Central and Eastern Europe.
On the third day of their visit to Canada, the multi-party delegation of the Serbian Assembly held talks with Peter Milliken, Speaker of the House of Commons of the Canadian Parliament, as well as with Gar Knutson, Secretary of State for Central and Eastern Europe.
The Serbian parliamentary delegation acquainted their Canadian hosts with results achieved so far in the democratic changes in Serbia, and asked for support and assistance for the further stregthening of democratic institutions, as well as for incentives for investing in Serbia’s economy and help in fulfilling Serbia’s key role in regional co-operation.
The Vice-president of the Serbian Assembly, Gordana Comic, said: “Today’s talks have shown Canada’s readiness to offer long-term co-operation and assistance to the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, especially in making it possible for our Assembly to fully control public finances. We also have reason to be optimistic when it comes to the support of Canadian officials to future investments in Serbia’s economy”, Gordana Comic concluded.
