The 32^nd meeting of the Economic, Commercial, Technological and Environmental Affairs Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC) was held in the House of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia on 18 and 19 March.

The session focused on the issues of development of sea transport in the Black Sea region: problems and prospects. In addition to the National Assembly delegation, parliamentary delegations from Armenia, Bulgaria, Greece, Russia and Turkey took part in the Committee’s activities.

The meeting was opened by the Chairman of the Economic, Commercial, Technological and Environmental Affairs Committee, Gagik Minasyan. Deputy Aleksandar Vlahovic, head of the National Assembly’s standing delegation at PABSEC, greeted the participants on the behalf of the host. He said that the National Assembly had elected a new PABSEC delegation and expressed a belief that it shall continue to build friendly and good-neighbourly relations with the member states of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation.

Vlahovic stressed that Serbia is interested in strengthening political cooperation among the member states, as well as deepening their relations in the field of economy, transport, culture and other, with the goal of spreading the influence of the Black Sea region and the regional parliamentary institution in the world.

Following the discussion, the members of the PABSEC Economic, Commercial, Technological and Environmental Affairs Committee adopted the Draft Report on “Development of the Sea Transport in the Black Sea Region: problems and prospects”, with recommendations.
