Online Conference Future of US-Serbia Relations

The founder of the Serbian-American Friendship Congress, MP Prof. Dr Vladimir Marinkovic attended an online conference with the US Special Representative for the Western Balkans Matthew Palmer, on "The future of US-Serbia relations". Marinkovic said that he was satisfied with the now strong friendship between Serbia and the US, but that there was still room for development.

“Further strengthening of cooperation with the US is of vital interest for an even faster development of our country, as well as the “mini-Schengen”, where it is important that we have a proactive attitude on the issue of economic and political cooperation, new investments, military and defence cooperation, etc. On the other hand, I am firmly convinced that the US does not have a more reliable partner or ally in the region, which forms a solid basis for a stable strategic partnership between the two countries. As an economic leader in the Balkans, Serbia certainly deserves even better bilateral relations and the arrival of new American investments, and the items agreed by the Washington Agreement and the continuation of the DFC in our country shows that the US shares the same position. Besides economic issues, we also count on the support of our partners in Washington in resolving the Kosovo issue through constructive dialogue”, Marinkovic said.
