Nineteenth Sitting of the Committee on Urban Planning and Construction

At the sitting held on 15 December, the Committee on Urban Planning and Construction considered the Bill amending the Law on Housing and the Bill amending the Law on Stimulating the Construction Industry of the Republic of Serbia in response to the new Conditions of the Economic Crisis, in principle.


A representative of the Ministry of Environment, Mining and Spatial Planning explained the Bills to the Committee members.

The reason for the amendments to the Law on Housing is to enable further buyout of apartments as stipulated by the basic Law i.e. harmonise the provisions with the altered statistical indicators, in force since 1 January 2011. Following a short debate, the Committee members unanimously accepted the Bill in principle.

The Bill amending the Law on Stimulating the Construction Industry of the Republic of Serbia in response to the new Conditions of the Economic Crisis enables the continued activity in the construction sector in the Republic of Serbia in the upcoming period. Following a short debate, the Committee members unanimously accepted this Bill in principle as well.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Jovan Nesovic.
