New Assembly Legislature Forms Green Parliamentary Group

After each election, a new legislature of the informal Green Parliamentary Group (GPP) is formed in the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia. At the beginning of November, a letter was sent to each MP containing basic information about the GPP and an invitation to join. More than thirty MPs responded to the invitation and on Monday, 7 December 2020, the new legislature’s GPP organized its first meeting in the National Assembly’s Green Hall.

At the meeting, the 21 GPP members elected a coordination team to manage the group’s activities. The coordination team consists of MPs Dubravka Filipovski, Jasmina Karanac and Bratimir Vasiljevic. This was an opportunity for the members to get to know each other and get acquainted with the history of the GPP and the results of its previous work. They also discussed future activities related to the adoption of the budget, organization of seminars, regional cooperation, promotion of the GPP and cooperation with civil society. The meeting ended with the signing of the Charter of the Green Parliamentary Group.

With this meeting, the Green Parliamentary Group was re-formed.

The realization of this activity is supported by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Serbia Office within the project "Capacity Development for Improved Implementation of Multilateral Environmental Agreements", funded by the Global Environment Fund (GEF).
