National Assembly Standing Delegation Takes Part in NATO Parliamentary Assembly Spring Session

The standing delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, comprising Head of the delegation Dragan Sormaz and delegation members Dubravka Filipovski and Branislav Blazic, took part in the NATO PA spring session, 30 May – 1 June 2014.

On the first day, at the NATO PA Plenary Session, after NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen had reported on NATO’s work and priorities, the Head of the Serbian delegation Dragan Sormaz addressed the assembly to delineate the problems Serbia has been facing due to the natural disaster it suffered in the past weeks and its impact. On the occasion he thanked all the countries, organisations and individuals for their assistance, underlining the EU’s timely assistance in the rehabilitation and recovery of infrastructure in the flooded areas.

He also emphasised the importance of dialogue and cooperation within international parliamentary institutions such as the NATO PA for addressing crises and conflict in the world.
