National Assembly Speaker’s Address on Occasion of Sretenje

Dear citizens of Serbia, On the behalf of all the deputies and myself, I congratulate you on the Statehood Day, and to all orthodox believers congratulations on the holiday of Sretenje (Presentation of Jesus at the Temple).

On the behalf of all the deputies and myself, I congratulate you on the Statehood Day, and to all orthodox believers congratulations on the holiday of Sretenje (Presentation of Jesus at the Temple).

Today, when we celebrate 175 years of the adoption of the first Constitution of modern Serbia, I am sure we all feel the results of our efforts to make Serbia, today an economically and politically stable, unconditionally determined to pursue a European future, respected in the world, a country that employs diplomatic and legal means to keep its integrity and sovereignty and protects and improves the rights of all of its citizens, the guarantor of stability and peace in the whole region and an equal member of the European family of nations.
