National Assembly Speaker at Students’ Day Celebration

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Dr Vladimir Orlic addressed the attending of the celebration of Students’ Day at the National Assembly House.

Congratulating Students’ Day - 4 April, the National Assembly Speaker listed Serbia’s recent achievements in terms of raising student standard at all levels from significant investments into student dormitories across the country, increase in student stipends and credits, construction projects of new or reconstruction of existing faculty buildings and an unprecedentedly high science budget. He told the students that the country recognises them as its future, which is why they can count on it as an ally.

Dr Orlic also reminded the attending of the help the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia lent to the advancement of overall education and its quality by adopting laws governing the area. “What also tells you that your country is your ally are the words of President Aleksandar Vucic who said that investing into education means investing into the future of Serbia. That is the message of us all in the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and the Government, as well as all other state representatives. And all that we do today, we are doing for you and it belongs to you. Every new highway, high-speed railway, new factory or institute we build – it is all for you, made to last for you, so you can take care of it tomorrow and on these foundations keep building, living and achieving your dreams in your own country. That is why, whatever your personal life plans, expectation or dreams may be, make some room for your Serbia where you can rest assured you have a future”, Dr Orlic told the students.
