National Assembly Speaker at Conference of Presidents of Parliaments of Council of Europe Countries in Oslo
National Assembly Speaker Maja Gojkovic will be taking part in the Conference of Presidents of Parliaments of Council of Europe Countries in Oslo, Norway, on 11 and 12 September 2014.
The presidents of European parliaments will be discussing fundamental constitutional rights and freedoms – participation, trust and public debate as conditions for democracy. The regular biennial parliamentary presidents’ conference will also be dealing with democracy, sovereignty and security in Europe and striking a balance in democracy between the majority and the opposition.
In the course of her stay in Oslo, the National Assembly Speaker will also lay a wreath at the Memorial to Yugoslav WWII internees in the city.
