Since the constitution of the current convocation, the National Assembly has been intensively active in the legislative sphere passing 313 laws and 105 other documents (in 2009 alone the number of adopted laws amounted to 265 and 61 other documents).

According to the data of the National Assembly Secretariat, the deputies have taken 128 trips. The Assembly Speaker, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, alone headed 17 parliamentary delegations to, among other places, Italy, Portugal, Hungary, Russia, France, Sweden and Australia.

Cooperation with independent bodies: State Audit Institution, Ombudsman, Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Anti-Corruption Agency, set the foundation for the parliament’s surveillance role. The Anti-Corruption Agency, which took over the role of the dismissed Republic Board for resolving conflict of interest, shall itself initiate proceedings and pronounce sanctions. As the Anti-Corruption Agency Law comes into force on 1 January 2010, the NARS Speaker, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, stated that she expected the Agency to do its duty in line with the adopted legal provisions.

NARS Speaker Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic wished all the citizens of Serbia happy holidays and professional, familial and personal happiness.
