The Speaker of the National Assembly, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic received today the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Serbia, Alexander Vasilyevich Konuzin, who extended an official invitation for her to visit the State Duma of the Russian Federation.

The talk dealt with the National Assembly delegation’s upcoming visit to Moscow, at the beginning of December, and setting the programme of the visit and meetings with Russian officials.

Assembly Speaker Djukic-Dejanovic stressed that the visit aims to further parliamentary cooperation between the two countries, which must be intensified in the future through the cooperation of the foreign affairs committees and friendship groups in the Serbian and Russian Federation’s assemblies.

Both deemed that, in addition to good economic cooperation, political contacts between the two countries must also be strengthened, especially on the parliamentary level. Ambassador Konuzin and the National Assembly Speaker paid particular attention to the importance of promoting bilateral cooperation in culture, education and health services and pledged to renew the traditional manifestations Russian Days in Belgrade and Belgrade Days in Moscow.
