National Assembly Speaker Talks to Portuguese Foreign Minister

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic received today the Portuguese Minister of Foreign Affairs Luis Amado, with whom she spoke of furthering bilateral, particularly parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.



The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic received today the Portuguese Minister of Foreign Affairs Luis Amado, with whom she spoke of furthering bilateral, particularly parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.

The Portuguese Foreign Minister is in favour of intensifying political, economic, cultural and all other kinds of cooperation between the two countries. According to him, the two countries signing agreements on the protection of direct investments and avoiding double taxation would contribute to the improvement of economic cooperation, and the Portuguese side will propose a new agreement from the field of defense to Serbia at the beginning of next year.

Minister Amado said that Serbia can count on Portugal’s friendly support on its road of accession to the European Union.

The National Assembly Speaker stressed that after her visit to Portugal she is convinced that there is great potential for improvement of inter-parliamentary cooperation, which in turn could prompt all other kinds of cooperation, above all economic.
