National Assembly Speaker Talks to High Schoolers from Laplje Selo

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic and deputy Dejan Radenkovic received today a group of students of the Economic-Trade School from Laplje Selo, Kosovo-Metohija.

Greeting the high schooolers on the behalf of the deputies, the National Assembly Speaker talked about the work of the highest legislative body. She said that the state of Serbia is doing all in its power to improve the living conditions and secure the safety of Serbian citizens in Kosovo-Metohija.

Assembly Speaker Djukic-Dejanovic presented the students with three computers and a printer and asked about the conditions the live and study in and their daily problems.

The Principal of the Economic-Trade School, Malinka Mitrovic, said that the school had moved from Prsitina to Laplje Selo and it currently shared its building with two other high schools and an elementary school. She talked about the difficult conditions under which they are operating and the general insecurity. Grateful that the students had been given the opportunity to become acquainted with the work of the highest legislative body, Principal Mitrovic presented the National Assembly Speaker with a monograph on the work of the Economic-Trade School and a painting.

During the visit, organised as part of the Programme of public access to Serbian state institutions, about 50 high schoolers from Laplje Selo toured the National Assembly House and the National Assembly Building in 14 Kralja Milana Street.
