The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, received today the Greek Parliament Deputy Speaker Vera Nicolaidou, head of the Communist Party Deputy Group at the Greek Parliament Aleca Papariga and European Parliament deputy Thanasis Paphilis. The Greek delegation arrived in Serbia to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the NATO bombing of Serbia.

The Greek Parliamentarians condemned the criminal bombing of Serbia by NATO and stressed that even now, 10 years later, the Western Balkan region remains unsafe. According to them, the economic crisis can cause new conflicts and it is therefore vital to act preventively and forestall them in any way possible.

The National Assembly Speaker thanked the Greek Parliamentarians and people on their considerable and selfless help during Serbia’s difficult years, the time of sanctions and bombing. She stressed that the friendly and sincere relations between the Serbian and Greek people should be cultivated and that all forms of cooperation between the two countries should be improved, economic cooperation in particular.
