National Assembly Speaker Talks to Estonian President
The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, hosted a working lunch for the Estonian delegation, headed by Toomas Hendrik Ilves, President of the Republic of Estonia, in official visit to Serbia.
The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, hosted a working lunch for the Estonian delegation, headed by Toomas Hendrik Ilves, President of the Republic of Estonia, in official visit to Serbia.
The conversation focused around Serbia’s Euro-integration process and overall bilateral cooperation. President Ilves confirmed Estonia’s intention to endorse EU’s expansion policy until “Europe is made complete by integrating the Balkans” and stressed that the Serbian Parliament plays a key role in the process. He also talked about the possibilities for cooperation and joint efforts in the multilateral sphere.
The officials confirmed they are open to expanding inter-state cooperation on all levels of common interest in the Euro-integration process and after Serbia has gained full EU membership. At the same time they noted the need to improve parliamentary cooperation on all levels as soon as possible.
