National Assembly Speaker Talks to Cypriot Parliament Speaker

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic had a telephone call with the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Cyprus Annita Demetriou today.

The two parliament speakers agreed that the two countries’ traditionally friendly relations have been successfully developing in all areas. The close cooperation between the two parliaments greatly contributes to the overall bilateral relations. The Cypriot Parliament Speaker once again thanked Serbia for the hospitality during her recent visit, stressing that it was one of her most successful bilateral visits. She invited National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic to visit Cyprus soon, which the National Assembly Speaker was very happy to accept.

Annita Demetriou stressed that Cyprus is following the developments in Serbia very closely and congratulated the National Assembly Speaker on the successfully realised referendum, underlining that it was a significant step in Serbia’s European integration process, one praised by the other EU member states as well. She restated that Serbia is a friendly country and that it can always count on the support of Cyprus in its European integration process.
