National Assembly Speaker Talks to Belgian Chamber of Representatives Speaker

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic talked today to the Speaker of the Chamber of Representatives of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Belgium, Patrick Dewael, heading a delegation of the Parliament’s Chamber of Representatives currently in official visit to Serbia at the invitation of the National Assembly Speaker.



The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic talked today to the Speaker of the Chamber of Representatives of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Belgium, Patrick Dewael, heading a delegation of the Parliament’s Chamber of Representatives currently in official visit to Serbia at the invitation of the National Assembly Speaker.

The meeting focused on the political relations between the Kingdom of Belgium and the Republic of Serbia, as well as future intensification of parliamentary cooperation.

The Speaker of the Chamber of Representatives of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Belgium said that it was a great honour to head the first parliamentary delegation visit to the Republic of Serbia. He believes that the Kingdom of Belgium will continue to support the Republic of Serbia’s the European integration process. Speaker Dewael congratulated the National Assembly Speaker and all the deputies on the results the Parliament had achieved in the last year. The Speaker added that the Parliament’s achievements are a gateway to Serbia’s long-term development.

The National Assembly Speaker thanked the Kingdom of Belgium for supporting the Republic of Serbia’s efforts in the European integrations process. She stressed that Serbia’s main goal is a speedy accession to the European Union, evidenced in the Parliament’s intensive legislative and monitoring activity.

All present agreed it was very important to intensify all levels of cooperation between the Kingdom of Belgium and Serbia so as to speed up Serbia’s integration into the European Union and deepen the relations between the two parliaments.

After the meeting, the Speaker of the Chamber of Representatives and National Assembly Speaker addressed the journalists gathered in the central hall of the National Assembly House.
