National Assembly Speaker Talks to Algerian Ambassador

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic received today the Algerian Ambassador to Serbia Abdelkader Mesdoua.



The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic received today the Algerian Ambassador to Serbia Abdelkader Mesdoua.

The Speaker of the National Assembly and the Algerian Ambassador expressed their pleasure at the meeting and in their talk foremostly focused on the possibilities of establishing parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.

Ambassador Mesdoua pointed out the presence of political will in Algeria to renew cooperation with Serbia with whom it has had traditionally good relations and connections. The exchange of parliamentary delegations, cooperation between committees and foundation of friendship groups at the parliaments of the two countries could be the first steps in the establishment and strengthening of parliamentary cooperation.

The Algerian Ambassador invited the National Assembly Speaker to visit his country in the upcoming period. Accepting with pleasure the invitation to visit Algeria and so contribute to the strengthening of friendly connections between Serbia and Algeria, Speaker Djukic-Dejanovic stressed that by voting in favour of the Kosovo-Metohija Resolution at the UN General Assembly, Algeria had given support to Serbia’s key national and state interest, which is greatly appreciated.
