National Assembly Speaker Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic Talks to Council of Europe PA Rapporteurs

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic received today a delegation of the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly Monitoring Committee so as to brief them on the progress made in the functioning of the National Assembly since the previous visit in September of last year.



The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic received today a delegation of the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly Monitoring Committee so as to brief them on the progress made in the functioning of the National Assembly since the previous visit in September of last year.

In line with the objective of the Monitoring Committee’s delegation, Assembly Speaker Djukic-Dejanovic summarised the activities of the working groups regarding the amendments to the National Assembly Rules of Procedure and drafting the Bill on the National Assembly and outlined the bodies’ work dynamics. She also described the way the issue of broadcasting the sessions is resolved, as part of maintaining the public nature of the parliament’s activities.

The delegation of the Monitoring Committee expressed their eagerness to continue to cooperate on drafting the Rules of Procedure and Bill on the National Assembly and restated that a clear definition of “mandate ownership” at the National Assembly and passing a bill on associations are important criteria of the Council of Europe PA monitoring process.
