The delegation members briefed the Speaker on the Union’s activities. They listed the problems people living with HIV in Serbia face, particularly as regards diagnostics and therapy. They also announced their campaign “voluntary and confidential HIV counselling and testing caravan” which the USOP launched on the occasion of World AIDS Day – 1 December. From 22 November to 15 December the testing caravan will visit about 25 towns and municipalities in Serbia. USOP, as the host and organiser, is also preparing for the second PLHIV (People living with HIV) conference in Serbia to be held in March 2012. The conference aims to create a regional union of PLHIV organisations.

The National Assembly Speaker endorsed the idea of creating a regional union of PLHIV organisations, reminding of the modifications made to the Anti-Discrimination Law by the amendment to article 22 which prohibits discrimination of children based on their or their parents’ medical condition.
