Today at the National Assembly House, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic received the Ambassador of Tunisia H. E. Houria Ferchichi.

The officials agreed that overall bilateral cooperation between Serbia and Tunisia leaves significant room for improvement, particularly on the political and economic plane.

In view of this, the officials greed that a meeting between the Serbian and Tunisian Parliament Speakers this year, and the accompanying increased parliamentary cooperation, would represent an important step towards improving bilateral relations between the two countries.

Ambassador Ferchichi suggested that the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia might host a roundtable on the position of women, jointly organised by the Embassy of the Republic of Tunisia and the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia. The Assembly Speaker applauded the initiative and stressed that she would take an active role in any public discussion on the topic.
