National Assembly Speaker Receives Republic of Srpska National Assembly Delegation

Today at the National Assembly House, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, received a delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska, headed by the Assembly Deputy Speaker, Nada Tesanovic. In her address, Assembly Speaker Djukic-Dejanovic stressed that parliamentary democracy greatly benefits form the exchange of experiences among deputies.



Today at the National Assembly House, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, received a delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska, headed by the Assembly Deputy Speaker, Nada Tesanovic.

In her address, Assembly Speaker Djukic-Dejanovic stressed that parliamentary democracy greatly benefits form the exchange of experiences among deputies. She emphasised the visit’s symbolic character since it came just after 15 September, Day of Democracy. The Assembly Speaker expressed her belief that today’s meetings between the members of working bodies of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska shall contribute to improve overall cooperation and strengthen the legislative and representative role of both parliaments. The Speaker stressed that future cooperation shall be even more intensive and benefit the strengthening of democracy in the entire Balkans.

Deputy Speaker, Nada Tesanovic conveyed the greetings of the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska, Igor Radojicic. She was pleased with today’s meetings between the deputies, committee members of both assemblies, stressing that sharing experiences is very important for furthering cooperation on the level of working bodies. She informed Assembly Speaker Djukic-Dejanovic that the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska is currently employed in drafting amendments and modifications to the Rules of Procedure and emphasised the significance of the experience on the matter shared by the colleagues from the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia.

The delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska, comprising over 30 deputies, is currently in a two-day return visit to the Republic of Serbia.
