The Report contains data on the monitoring of the realisation of the Strategy in the activities of public authorities relating to employment, education and housing of Roma, exercise of their right to social welfare and healthcare, etc.
In the course of the meting the officials concluded that there has been progress but the results achieved have not removed all the obstacles to the socio-economic integration of Roma. At the same time they noted the lack of a fully-developed normative basis for the implementation of long-term measures to reduce poverty and achieve essential equality for Roma citizens, caused by omissions in public administration.
After the meeting, the National Assembly Speaker Dr Nebojsa Stefanovic, Ombudsman Sasa Jankovic and the Chairman of the Committee on Human and Minority Rights and Gender Equality Meho Omerovic held a press conference.
