National Assembly Speaker Receives President of Serbian State Audit Institution Council
The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic talked today to the President of the Council of the State Audit Institution, Radoslav Sretenovic.

President Sretenovic briefed the National Assembly Speaker on the work of the State Audit Institution, stressing that its function is not entirely fulfilled. He reminded her that two years have elapsed between the adoption of the Law on the State Audit Institution in November 2005, and the election of the SAI Council and the relevant Finance Committee only recently accepted its Rules of Procedure and proposed that the National Assembly give assent to the act.
Sretenovic particularly emphasised the lack of appropriate conditions for the institution’s work, most notably suitable premises. He also pointed out that it is necessary to elect one more Council member, since one of the members tendered his resignation in the meantime.
Acknowledging the importance of this institution, Assembly Speaker Djukic-Dejanovic said that she will discuss the options for resolving the stated problems as soon as possible with the National Assembly committees in charge.
