National Assembly Speaker Receives Kuwaiti Ambassador

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic received today the newly appointed Ambassador of the State of Kuwait Fusi Abdulasis Al-Jasin, with whom she spoke about the relations between the two countries and the possibilities for furthering their cooperation.



The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic received today the newly appointed Ambassador of the State of Kuwait Fusi Abdulasis Al-Jasin, with whom she spoke about the relations between the two countries and the possibilities for furthering their cooperation.

The Ambassador stressed that the Kuwaiti side is interested in furthering the overall cooperation with Serbia, particularly in renewing the political dialogue and continuing economic cooperation. The signing of the agreement on mutual encouragement and protection of investment and on avoiding double-taxation should contribute to it, and it should be signed as soon as possible.

Pointing out the traditional friendship of the two countries, the Speaker of the National Assembly stressed that Serbia appreciates Kuwait’s principled position on the importance of abiding by International Law, which also includes UNSC Resolution 1244, which guarantees Serbia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity on all of its territory, including Kosovo-Metohija.

Speaker Djukic-Dejanovic emphasised that Serbia is open to foreign investment and will soon pass new regulations to improve conditions and create an ambience which will guarantee foreign investment.

The officials deemed that the two countries are ready to renew all forms of parliamentary cooperation.
