Lambrinidis relayed his country’s support of Serbia’s Euro-integration adding that Greece would do all in its power to make sure Serbia receives EU candidacy status in December. The head of Greek diplomacy congratulated Serbia on all it has achieved in the field of Euro-integration. Greece supports the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina and applauds all of its results, said Stavros Lambrinidis stressing that Greece will not back down from its principled position regarding Serbia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic emphasised the parliament’s intensive work on the harmonisation of domestic and European legislation. She said that by the end of the month all the proposed laws from the European agenda would be passed.

The National Assembly Speaker thanked the Greek Government and people for their principled support of Serbia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, which is a reflection of the exceptionally high degree of friendship between the two nations.

Djukic-Dejanovic asked Foreign Minister Stavros Lambrinidis to convey the renewed invitation to the Greek Parliament Speaker to be the guest of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia.
