National Assembly Speaker Receives Greek Ambassador

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic received the Greek Ambassador in Belgrade, H.



The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic received the Greek Ambassador in Belgrade, H.E. Christos Panagopoulos, at the end of his mandate in Serbia.

In the conversation, both expressed their pleasure at the progress of bilateral relations between the two traditionally friendly countries.

Assembly Speaker Djukic-Dejanovic congratulated the Greek Ambassador on the high recognition of the Serbian Orthodox Church, the Order of St Sava 1st Class, for the development of the relations between the two nations. The Assembly Speaker particularly stressed that the interparliamentary cooperation of the two countries needs to be expanded further.

Ambassador Panagopoulos announced that Greece will continue to support for Serbia, above all in the area of Eurointegration and economy through investment. He stressed the importance of cooperation in the fields of energy production, tourism, telecommunication, as well as infrastructure (Corridor 10).

Assembly Speaker Djukic-Dejanovic informed Ambassador Panagopoulos that she had accepted the initiative of the Greek Parliament to convene a regional conference of parliamentary speakers concerning the solution to the Near East crisis.
