The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, MA Nebojsa Stefanovic, received a delegation of the Australian Parliament headed by Steve Georganas, Deputy Speaker of the Australian House of Representatives.

To that end, he emphasised the role of the two parliaments’ respective parliamentary friendship groups. Both sides agreed that the Serbian diaspora in Australia presents an important bond for the development of close relations between the Republic of Serbia and Australia, and that together they help both maintain and promote Serbian culture and language in order to strengthen the positive image Serbia enjoys in Australia.
The head of the delegation, Steve Georganas, emphasised the fact that almost all of them are also members of Australia’s parliamentary friendship group with Serbia.
The Australian delegation showed particular interest for the potentials for investment into agriculture and mining.
