National Assembly Speaker Meets with Slovak Ambassador to Serbia
The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ana Brnabic met today with the Slovak Ambassador to Serbia Michal Pavuk.
The officials agreed that the bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries are excellent and their strengthening through the intensification of top level visits remain a priority.
The National Assembly Speaker stressed that Serbia strictly condemns the attack on the Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico who is a great friend to our country, adding that she is encouraged by the news that he is recuperating successfully and sincerely wishing him a speedy recovery and return to his regular duties.
She also said that parliamentary dialogue and cooperation within the two institutions is a vital link in the further strengthening of relations and that the formation of a Parliamentary Friendship Group with Slovakia in the National Assembly is expected soon. Brnabic thanked Slovakia for its position during the voting on the Srebrenica Resolution at the UN General Assembly, saying that Serbia greatly appreciates the move considering the enormous pressure and the circumstances.
Ambassador Pavuk stressed that Slovakia will continue to support Serbia’s path to full membership in the EU and that it is interested in the further development of economic cooperation resulting is a fairly high amount of trade.
