National Assembly Speaker Meets with Nigerian Parliamentary Delegation

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic met with a delegation of the House of Representatives of the Federal Republic of Nigeria today, visiting Serbia at the invitation of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Nigeria.

Mentioning the two countries’ long-standing friendship and cooperation dating back to the founding of the Non-Aligned Movement, National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic opined that the parliamentary cooperation is undeveloped, in which context, he welcomed the visit of the Nigerian MPs, emphasising the readiness of our side to intensify contacts, including organising visits at the level of parliamentary speakers. He reminded the guests that as the head of diplomacy, he had made great efforts to strengthen cooperation with all African countries, and that 25 May was declared the Africa Day.

The Head of the Nigerian Parliamentary Friendship Group with Serbia Aliyu Ibrahim Al-Mustapha conveyed the greetings of the Nigerian Parliament Speaker and agreed that the cooperation between the two countries should be strengthened in all fields. He especially emphasised the importance of strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries, as well as cooperation in the fields of agriculture, defence, sports and education.
