National Assembly Speaker Meets with Italian Ambassador to Serbia

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ana Brnabic met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Italy to Serbia Luca Gori and discussed the importance of cooperation between the two parliaments.

The National Assembly Speaker said that overall bilateral cooperation between the two countries is well-developed and that relations are at the level of strategic partnership, adding that Italy is an important political and economic partner. She also said that she believes the visit of the delegation of the Italian Chamber of Deputies Committee on Foreign and EU Affairs, headed by Chairman Giulio Tremonti to Serbia, will contribute to the further improvement parliamentary cooperation.

Ambassador Gori said that the ample parliamentary cooperation represents a very important segment of bilateral cooperation that contributes both to overall relations and to Serbia's success on the European path.

Brnabic said that Serbia is grateful for the Italian support on its path to full membership in the EU and that the earliest possible integration of the Western Balkans into the EU is a guarantee for the prosperity and stability of both our region and Europe as a whole.

The officials agreed that the second Serbia-Italy Business Forum held in Trieste last month was a success and further improved the comprehensive bilateral cooperation between our countries, especially in the fields of economy, green transition and innovation.
