National Assembly Speaker Meets with Israeli Minister of Tourism

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic met today with the Minister of Tourism of the State of Israel Yoel Razvozov, visiting Belgrade to take part in the International Tourism Fair.

The National Assembly Speaker expressed satisfaction with the constant progress of the political dialogue and economic cooperation between Serbia and Israel. He opined that the mutual respect and solidarity of the two nations who have historically often shared the same fate, had contributed to that. Assembly Speaker Dacic shared his readiness to contribute to the further improvement of bilateral relations, among other things, through an exchange of visits and strengthening of parliamentary dialogue, with the hope that the existing good communication between the two parliaments’ bodies would continue.

The Minister of Tourism of the State of Israel Yoel Razvozov thanked the Speaker for the hospitality, saying it was a pleasure to have the opportunity to visit Serbia. He stressed that the Israeli people and government remain committed to preserving and strengthening the traditional friendship with Serbia. He went on to say that Israel is interested in improving cooperation in the field of tourism. The tourist exchange does not live up to the potentials, despite the interest expressed by both countries’ population and competent authorities to improve cooperation in the field of tourism. Razvozov expressed hope that the Tourist Cooperation Agreement to be signed during this visit would contribute to the establishment of an institutional framework to facilitate and strengthen cooperation between tourism partners. He also announced the re-launching of the direct flight between Belgrade and Tel Aviv on 8 April.

The meeting was also attended by the heads of the friendship groups in the National Assembly and the Knesset, MPs Vladimir Marinkovic and Boaz Toporovsky.
