The two parliament speakers discussed interparliamentary cooperation between the two countries, especially between parliamentary friendship groups and parliamentary committees, regional cooperation, exchange of experiences and Hungary’s expertise, extremely useful in Serbia’s Euro-integration process.

Speaker Stefanovic thanked Hungary for the support it lends Serbia in its talks with the European Union, stressing that Serbia needs Hungary’s experience and support especially as regards strengthening judiciary professions, notaries public and executors, strategic planning and preparation of IPA and other projects in the sphere of the judiciary and combating organised crime.

The Hungarian Parliament Speaker said that Hungary will fully support Serbia’s Euro-integration process and is ready to offer Serbia its experience in reducing the balance-of-payments deficit, public debt and inflation.

In the course of his official visit to Hungary, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia also met with Hungarian Foreign Minister János Martonyi.

Speaker Stefanovic and Minister Martonyi discussed Serbia’s Euro-integration process, the two countries’ bilateral relations and regional cooperation. They stressed that the cooperation between the two countries is good, at the same time listing all the potential problems to be addressed in the future at the bilateral level to prevent them from jeopardizing Serbia’s talks with the European Union.

In the course of his official visit to Hungary, NARS Speaker Dr Nebojsa Stefanovic will also meet with the leader of the Fidesz parliamentary group at the Hungarian Parliament Antal Rogán, and representatives of the diaspora in Hungary.
