In the meeting with Ambassador Giaufret, Speaker Brnabic talked about all the processes undertaken to improve the electoral process in Serbia. She emphasised that the upcoming elections are expected to be held in an atmosphere that guarantees a fair and transparent electoral process, thanks to the established dialogue between the ruling majority and the opposition.

Speaker Brnabic, also pointed out that, in order to improve the electoral process and strengthen democracy in Serbia, two working groups were formed that are actively working on the implementation of ODIHR recommendations.

The meeting also touched on the importance of the active participation of civil society organisations in the process of improving the electoral process. The Speaker stressed that these organisations have invaluable experience and knowledge of local political situations and the electoral processes, and their participation contributes to creating an atmosphere of trust in the electoral process among the citizens and political actors.

Ambassador Giaufret welcomed the initiation of the political dialogue on electoral conditions, which must continue after the elections in a transparent and inclusive manner in order to provide tangible results in the implementation of all the existing and possible new ODIHR recommendations.
