National Assembly Speaker Meets with Freedom Party of Austria Representatives

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ana Brnabic met today with representatives of the Freedom Party of Austria (FPO), led by the head of the party's delegation in the European Parliament, Harald Vilimsky.

Brnabic welcomed the Austrian guests to Serbia and in a cordial conversation pointed out that one of her priorities is strengthening parliamentary diplomacy and that she hopes for closer cooperation in the coming period. The FPO delegation expressed its desire to deepen cooperation with Serbia and the expectation that in the future it will further strengthen the friendly relations with our country.

Vilimsky said that they were closely following the events in Serbia and that they are extremely happy that the Parliament Speaker will work to strengthen international cooperation. Brnabic thanked Vilimsky for his party’s public support of Serbia in the reforms and bringing it closer to the European Union.

The officials discussed the continuation of Serbia's European integration, the current situation in Kosovo-Metohija, as well as the recently signed Memorandum on sustainable raw materials between Serbia and the European Union.

Brnabic and Vilimsky exchanged opinions on the current geopolitical situation in the world and the region, concluding that peace and stability are a prerequisite for further economic progress of both Serbia and the entire region.
