National Assembly Speaker Meets with Former PACE President Jean-Claude Mignon
National Assembly Speaker Dr Nebojsa Stefanovic met with French MP and former PACE President Jean-Claude Mignon. He thanked him for his sincere support of Serbia, especially in its progress to European Union membership.
Mignon said that he would continue to support Serbia as a French MP and member of the French Parliament’s Foreign Policy Committee, especially in the European integration process.
He mentioned how he was eliminated from the race for Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, characterising the event as a paradox because, he said, the organisation calls for human rights, yet is unable to apply the same rules to itself.
National Assembly Speaker Dr Nebojsa Stefanovic said he was pleased by the excellent cooperation with the Head of the National Assembly’s standing delegation to the Council of Europe, Aleksandra Djurovic, which Mignon described as exceptional.
