National Assembly Speaker Meets with European Council President

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ana Brnabic met today with the President of the European Council Antonio Costa.

The meeting focused on Serbia’s next steps on the road of European integration and advancement of relations with the European Union.

Brnabic stressed that EU membership remains Serbia’s strategic commitment and our top foreign policy priority, adding that the National Assembly remains a strong pillar of all reform processes leading the country toward that goal.

“We are experiencing a positive impetus for enlargement in the European Union, and this is a clear opportunity for Serbia to build on it. The EU remains strongly dedicated to seeing Serbia accede as a stable, peaceful and prosperous country which has faced its inherited past and chosen to embrace its democratic and European future”, Costa stressed.

She said she was convinced that the partnership between Serbia and the EU will be deepened in the spirit of mutual respect and common values.
