The National Assembly Speaker said that the relations between the two countries are developing in a good direction, reminding the guest of the big progress achieved in recent years in the field of economic cooperation. He stressed that as head of diplomacy he enjoyed excellent cooperation with his colleagues, expressing readiness to continue working to strengthen cooperation between the two parliaments.

Ambassador Reintjes agreed that economic cooperation is developing fast, reminding the host that in 2019 the Netherlands was number one in the amount of direct foreign investments into Serbia, with over 500 Dutch companies doing business in Serbia at present. He agreed that strengthening cooperation between the Serbian and Dutch parliaments is something the two countries should work on.

Responding to the Ambassador’s questions, National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic briefed the guest on the National Assembly’s activities, particularly those concerning the Constitutional amendments and the coming referendum scheduled for 16 January 2022.
