National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic after Receiving Sputnik V Vaccine

National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic received the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine today at the Institute of Virology, Vaccines and Sera "Torlak".


On the occasion, the National Assembly Speaker said that the decision was for each of the holders of highest state office to receive a vaccine by different manufacturers, in order to set an example and build the citizens’ trust in the vaccination process itself.

Dacic added that this was also a way for the state leadership to expresses support and participate in the protection of public health, and to strengthen the citizens’ trust in the vaccination process which has been a victim of conspiracy theories for years, with negative consequences for the population.

“We welcome the vaccination process as the first step in overcoming this pandemic, with its world-wide impact and no end in sight”, said National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic in his address.
