National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic Receives Egyptian Ambassador

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic received the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt Bassel Salah Mustafa Ahmed today in courtesy visit.

National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic wished the recently appointed Egyptian Ambassador a successful mandate, stressing that the peoples of Serbia and Egypt share a decades-long firm friendship which they should continue to promote, primarily by strengthening cooperation in areas of common interest. Assembly Speaker Dacic said that in all the functions he has performed he has always enjoyed excellent cooperation with his Egyptian colleagues, mentioning his bilateral visit to Egypt in December when, in addition to the Speaker of the House of Representatives Hanafy Ali El Gebali, he also met with Egyptian President El Sisi and Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly.

Egyptian Ambassador Bassel Salah Mustafa Ahmed opined that the traditionally good and friendly political and parliamentary relations and partnership provide many opportunities for strengthening cooperation in other areas, especially the economy since Egypt’s level of development and proximity makes it an African country with maybe the biggest trade potentials. He stressed that during his mandate he would do his best to contribute to the development of cooperation, including military technology and agriculture, adding that he hoped Egyptian President El Sisi would visit Serbia before the end of the year.
