National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic Meets with Non-Resident Saudi Ambassador
The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic received the non-resident Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Usamа bin Dakhel аl-Ahmedi in a courtesy visit today.
Welcoming the Saudi Ambassador, National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic wished him a successful term of office, pointing out that the bilateral relations between Serbia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are good, but that there is a lot of room for improvement. The Parliament Speaker opined that the relations between the two countries would certainly benefit from more frequent contacts between officials and parliamentarians, as w3ell as the opening of a Saudi Embassy in Belgrade.
Saudi Ambassador Usamа bin Dakhel аl-Ahmedi thanked the host, agreeing that there is a lot of room to improve cooperation and adding that he would try to contribute to strengthening relations during his term of office. He said that there is great interest in Serbia in Saudi Arabia, as well as in getting acquainted with the conditions for possible investments. The Ambassador agreed that bilateral visits by officials certainly play a key role in establishing contacts, mentioning that he expected the arrival of various levels of Saudi delegations in September.
At the end of the conversation, National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic said that he would be happy to host Saudi colleagues in the near future and that he hoped to visit Saudi Arabia when the epidemiological conditions allow.
