The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic met with the Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Ambassador Sem Fabrizi.
In the course of the meeting, the officials discussed cooperation and upcoming activities of the European Union and the Republic of Serbia.
At the invitation of the President of the European Parliament David Sassoli, National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic will take part in the Second European Parliament - Western Balkans Parliament Speakers’ Summit, to be held on 28 June 2021 in Brussels.
National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic informed his guest about the National Assembly’s current activities. He told him that the National Assembly would hold a special session on 22 June where President Aleksandar Vucic would inform the MPs about the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina.
At Ambassador Fabrizi’s interest, National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic informed him about the inter-party dialogue and plans for its continuation, as well as the talks with the political parties that did not want foreigners to participate in the dialogue.
Ambassador Fabrizi opined that the National Assembly Speaker’s upcoming visit to Brussels is important, and the officials agreed that additional efforts should be made to intensify cooperation between the European Parliament and the National Assembly.
