The Chairman of the Chinese National People's Congress Li Zhanshu stressed that the relations between Serbia and China are at a high level and that the strategic partnership is developing in all directions, expressing special satisfaction with the progress in the development of economic cooperation. He thanked National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic for his contribution to the development of good relations and friendship between Serbia and China, saying he stands ready to continue to nurture the steel friendship between the two countries. He said that the visit to China, as the head of Serbian diplomacy, in the midst of the pandemic in February last year, clearly showed Serbia’s support and solidarity with China in challenging and difficult moments.

Ivica Dacic pointed out that he would continue to invest efforts as National Assembly Speaker, not only to further strengthen parliamentary cooperation between the two countries, but cooperation as such. He agreed that bilateral relations are at a high level, with an excellently developed political dialogue at the highest level, and that the strategic partnership between the two countries is constantly strengthening. He pointed out that the epidemic did not diminish the cooperation between China and Serbia in any way, indeed the cooperation continued to develop and strengthen. He stressed that Serbia highly appreciates the support and aid in medical equipment and materials sent to it by the Chinese Government, as well as for the delivery of vaccines that help us fight the pandemic.

The National Assembly Speaker thanked China for its principled support of Serbia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, stressing that Serbia strongly supports the "One China” policy.

The National Assembly Speaker extended congratulations on the great jubilee - Centennial of the Communist Party of China, saying he has great respect for the Communist Party’s success in building a modern and strong China.

The National Assembly Speaker invited his colleague Li Zhanshu to come and visit Serbia, which he gladly accepted, as soon as the epidemiological conditions allow.
