National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic Congratulates March 8 - International Women's Day

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic congratulated March 8 - International Women's Day to all members of the fairer sex, stressing that women should continue their active participation in all spheres of life to be included in all the changes and solutions shaping and influencing society.

"To all the members of the fairer sex, my warmest congratulations on March 8 - International Women's Day, a symbol of the leftist holiday created as a struggle for the political, economic and social rights of woman.

The symbolic celebration of "Women's Day" is an opportunity to remind ourselves of the women’s long journey to achieve recognition of their basic human rights, as well as to once again draw attention to the need to further improve their position.

Women, who make up half of the population, should continue their active participation in all spheres of life in order to be involved in all the changes and solutions that shape and influence society, because experience tells us that it is crucial to enable women to participate fully and equally in matter of peace and security, as well as in actively solving all problems.

We have brave, educated and dedicated women who must have the right to freedom of choice, equal conditions and salaries for the work they do, a life without violence and discrimination, because without socially stable, successful and strong women, our country cannot be stable or successful.

Therefore dear ladies, happy holiday, continue to follow the path of success, equality and active solution to all problems that are important for our country and society."
