The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic congratulated the Minister of Justice Snezana Malovic on the Gianfranco Merli Award she received yesterday at the Italian Parliament in Rome.

The award is granted under the patronage of the Italian Ministry of Justice, and Minister Malovic received it for her work on launching the initiative to improve cooperation between Serbia and Italy, as well as the process of harmonisation of Serbian legislation with European Union legislation.

Among other things, the NA Speaker’s letter of congratulation states “Italy is an important friend for Serbia on its road to the European Union, which is evidenced in the cooperation among all the state institutions of the two countries, parliaments included, with a special contribution of the Serbia-Italy Friendship Group at the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia. I am convinced that you shall continue to successfully conduct the thorough reform of the judiciary system and thus continue giving crucial contribution to Serbia’s speedy integration into the European Union”.

“I wish you success and may we, together, raise Serbia to the rank of modern European democracies”, National Assembly Speaker Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic said in her letter of congratulations.
