National Assembly Speaker Ana Brnabic at Panel on EU Enlargement

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ana Brnabic took part in the panel on the enlargement of the European Union, organised by Friends of Europe in Brussels.

Brnabic pointed out that the integration of the Western Balkans into the EU is important for both parties. "We should not compete against each other in the EU accession process, but support one another along the way. The perception of the future is closely related to the economic power of a country. If people live better, have a stable job, if they see a perspective for themselves, their family and children, they will look to the future with optimism. Serbia has done a lot in this field in the previous 12 years. Unemployment is at a historic low, average salaries and pensions are constantly growing, we are the leader in attracting foreign direct investments in the Western Balkans. We will continue to implement reforms primarily for the sake of our citizens, as this will lead to an improvement in their living standards," said the National Assembly Speaker.
