National Assembly Hosts Student Project Belgrade Model European Union – BEUM 2014

The National Assembly hosted student project Belgrade Model European Union – BEUM 2014, 15-19 October 2014, gathering more than 250 students from 50 countries.

On the behalf of the National Assembly, the students were greeted by European Integration Committee member Prof. Dr Ljubisa Stojmirovic who commended the young people’s wish and readiness to learn from the project, telling them that only through learning can they find their place in society and improve both their lives and the lives of their respective communities.

Belgrade Model European Union – BEUM, launched in 2011, is a student simulation of how the European Union functions. Its goal is to teach young people about the decision-making procedures within the European Union through a simulation of debates and the decision-making process in which they play one of five roles – MEPs, Ministers in the EU Council, heads of state or governments in the European Council, lobbyists and journalists.
